Enjoy a HER Starward Honeycomb cocktail at one of these venues in March

For the entire month of March, some of our venue partners – which also happen to be some stellar bars and restaurants – are mixing, stirring and shaking cocktails using HER Starward Honeycomb as the hero ingredient. Even our very own Starward Distillery & Bar is in on the fun.
If you ever needed a reason to grab your friends and head to your local, then this is it! These limited-edition cocktails will be poured across venues in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and Canberra – view the full list of participating venues here. They’re here for a good time not a long time, so jump to it and experience the magic of HER Starward Honeycomb in an expertly crafted cocktail. Here are some of our favourites:

Starward Distillery & Bar
We’re especially excited about this event because it’s happening at the home of Starward, our Port Melbourne Distillery. On March 16 and March 23, we’ll be hosting our Honey Saturday DJ Sessions. Get on down, find a spot at the bar and settle in as we spin vinyl and sling $15 Honey Highballs plus some sweet cocktails like our Starward x Hunted+Gathered Honeycomb Whip and the Honey Badger. This is all, of course, in celebration of our HER Starward Honeycomb relaunching, and if you know us you know we love throwing a party and saying an exuberant ‘Cheers!’ in the name of outrageously delicious whisky. See you there!

Up next is HER, the namesake and inspiration behind our HER Starward Honeycomb. This positively buzzing, warm and playful venue is on Lonsdale Street in Melbourne and has a vinyl-listening bar (inspired by those in Japan), a Thai-style barbeque joint and a rooftop with views of Melbourne’s sparkling skyline. It’s four levels of fun with a secret entrance to the MUSIC ROOM (that’s the vinyl-listening bar), locating it is half the fun! Once you’re in there order a  Gaytime Milk Punch, Pina Colada Sour or Honeycomb Highball. All will be on offer and whatever you decide, it’ll be a sweet treat.

Honeycomb dripping honey being placed in a cocktail glass at bar LibertyBar Liberty
Don’t leave Bar Liberty until you’ve had a Liberty Old Fashioned expertly mixed by one of their (very talented) bartenders. This restaurant and bar situated on an unassuming corner along Fitzroy's Johnston Street is all about vibrant vibes, a seasonal menu and an intriguing drinks list. The team here will make you feel at home while they do what they do best: celebrating simple things done well. And for the love of whisky, order the flatbread.

A cocktail with Honeycomb whisky being stirred on a sliver bar at Bar MarqauxBar Margaux
Ok night owls, this one’s for you. Bar Margaux is a late-night bar and basement brasserie serving wine, cocktails and French food until the early hours. Drop in here before or after your theatre show, or when the craving for a steak frites is simply too much to handle. The space is reminiscent of a New York-inspired French bistro abuzz with vintage tunes and chatter. Pull up at the bar or find a dimly lit corner and order the Ward of Bees cocktail. Intrigued? Us too.

And the winner for the best cocktail name goes to… Maggie’s Snacks and Liquor. Whoever Maggie is we’d like to shake her hand and ask where the name Cheesus Take The Wheel! came from. If you visit and order one you’ll have to ask on our behalf. There’s plenty to love about this Lygon Street venue, from its clubhouse feel conjured by mid-century furnishings, exposed brick, emerald-green-painted walls and retro advertising posters. It’s warm and inviting and boasts an impressive cocktail list with each one honouring an Aussie icon.

A whisky sour cocktail with white foam top in glassware next to the Dulcies bar menuDulcie’s
If you’re in Sydney and in the mood for a tipple, then Duclie’s basement drinking parlour – which once served as a popular strip club – is a must-visit. Here you’ll find a stage used for tarot reading, burlesque, cabaret and monologues – and expect a few late-night shows on Friday and Saturday nights, too. Its eclectic aesthetic is punctuated with decadent fabric rugs, curtains and antique furniture alongside old maps and photos of Sydney before the Harbour Bridge. Our cocktail of choice to sip on while having our tarots read would have to be The Aviary.

The Foxtrot Inn
This discreet, dimly lit bar with plenty of cosy nooks and an indoor garden has a simple ethos: to deliver drinks using only the finest ingredients to yield the most delicious and unique flavour profiles available. We admire their commitment to pushing the envelope when it comes to flavour and their cocktail menu is proof. With so many to choose from, you’d be forgiven for taking a while to decide on your drink of choice. Take our lead and try their Whisky Baclava.

The End Bar
Once a much-loved VHS store in West End (with video tape-themed decor honouring it), The End Bar is owned by four friends joined by a common interest in having beers with their mates, making it the perfect place to do the same with yours. When it comes to cocktails, the team here are all about seasonal tipples that are almost too colourful and creative to sip (almost).
The bar also offers entertainment from local bands and solo artists as well as some of Brisbane’s best DJs. And nothing complements a DJ spinning decks better than a Violet Crumble Old Fashioned.
