The Original Panettone inspired whisky is back

Starward isn't a traditional whisky, but when it comes to Panettone inspired whisky, we've created our own tradition.

For the third year of Panettone releases, we're re-releasing The Original.

This release was the very first, with notes of pineapple, almond and raisin. The Original Panettone has aged for 7 years, with some 10+ year old whiskies blended in, creating more depth and complexity.

TASTING NOTES

Aroma / Classic Two-Fold leading with bright tropical fruit notes, golden syrup, toasted almonds and a slight hint of raisin.

Palate / Fruit forward with a subtle toasty character. The Tawny influence gradually takes hold and gives characters of Christmas pudding and toffee.

Finish / More Tawny influence on the finish, dried fruits, rum & raisin chocolate. Full bodied.

Inspired by Nostalgia

One of the great rituals in Dave's family is making a traditional Italian Christmas cake, called Panettone. His mum used to make Panettone with him and he now makes it with his kids.

Panettone inspired whisky is a reflection of his own family traditions through the lens of Starward; still bright enough to be enjoyed in the Aussie summer, but with the inclusion of Australian Tawny fortified wine casks for a richness, fruitiness and depth perfect for holiday feasting.

Our whisky is bright, fruity and approachable, but like Dave's Mum's Panettone is definitely still cake, Starward Panettone is definitely still whisky.
