5 gift ideas for the whisky lover in your life

Alright, you know what time it is! It’s time to stop procrastinating and start ticking people off your gifting list. We’re well and truly on the path towards December 25 now, and there’s no better feeling than getting on top of your present and buying it early. You’ve probably got a diehard whisky fan in your family or friendship group, right? Maybe it’s your mate who decided 2022 was the year she decided whisky was her thing or your Uncle Ken – always the first person at your family dinners to crack open a bottle of Fortis when the food lands. Whoever it is, we’re confident they’d love a little Starward in their stocking. We’ve rounded up our best present ideas below, so you can spend less time researching and more time gifting. Cheers to that!

1. A Limited Edition Two-Fold Gift Box
An award-winning whisky all wrapped up in striking colours inspired by Melbourne’s famous street art and the everchanging hues of the Australian night sky – it doesn’t get much better than that! From the whisky devotee to the whisky newbie, Two-Fold is an excellent choice and represents the utmost approachability and versatility. You can mix it in a spritz or sip it at the many backyard BBQ gatherings filling up your calendar as the weather gets warmer. Two-Fold truly shines when it's shared and enjoyed – making it a thoughtful gift that’s all wrapped up and ready to crack open over lunch on December 25.

2. Starward Whisky Gift Pack
So you know they’re a Starward fan, but can’t be too sure on their drink of choice? There’s a pack for that. The Starward Whisky Gift Pack, in fact! It features three 200mL bottles of our awarded and lauded whiskies Two-Fold, Nova and Fortis. You could leave it as a trio and gift that or split up the set and gift one to each of your closest friends. The bottles are so darn cute and make for the perfect stocking stuffers if you’re looking for a few extra spirit-themed surprises to include this year.

3.Personalise your own whisky
This whisky’s got their name on it, literally. A personalised bottle of Starward’s delicious red wine barrel-aged whisky is equal parts thoughtful, cool and unique – we’re certain it’ll impress Uncle Ken. The process is simple – just head here, and use the form on the page to add the lucky gift receiver’s name and a personalised message just for them. From a love note to words of appreciation or maybe a moment to say ‘cheers’ to the person who made your year – you choose the words and we’ll take care of the whisky. And hey, no naughty words, ok? Cheeky.

4.The Manhattan Gift Set
This is a nifty kit for the proud dinner party host whose cocktail-making skills precede them – now they can make a Manhattan whenever they darn well please! It includes a 500mL bottle of Regal Rogue, which is an aged amaro (Italian for “bitter”) – a herbal liqueur with a bitter-sweet taste finished in casks that once held our Melbourne-made Nova whisky plus native indigenous ingredients like pepperberry, wattleseed and rosella. The set also includes a 700mL Starward Nova and two chic glasses that’ll up their cocktail glassware game in a big way. Christmas cocktails, sorted.

5. A date at the Starward Distillery
Just a cheeky 5-minute drive from Melbourne CBD is the home of Starward (where all the magic happens). Here you can book a spot at the bar, order a Two-Fold and Tonic (or whatever drink takes your fancy) and peruse our latest food menu which takes seasonal inspiration to create an ever-changing list of small delights to pair perfectly with your whisky. We’ll let you in on a little secret, we’re closing our distillery for renovations from December 24, 2022, to Autumn 2023, so if you’re planning on gifting the experience of visit here, maybe do it early! While it’s closed, we’ll be busy dreaming up new ways to enjoy our award-winning whisky; from menus to new tastings and immersive experiences – watch this space! We’ll still be producing our award-winning whisky as normal, too.

After more gift ideas? We’ve got plenty. Perhaps some Christmas cocktail inspiration? We’ve got plenty of that too.
